Illinois Valley Cat Taxi is a non-profit organization in Mendota, IL helping to alleviate the cat overpopulation crisis in our area through low-cost spay/neuter services and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). Although we are able to assist you with sterilizing your indoor cat too, our primary focus is on cats who need our help the most - outdoor cats. These include barn cats, strays, and ferals. Humane trapping assistance is available for cats who cannot be handled. Our service is offered to anyone regardless of area or income.

Started in August of 2008, IV Cat Taxi has spayed or neutered over 700 local cats to date. We have rescued over 60 friendly cats or kittens from the streets and placed them in loving, indoor homes. We have worked with families from as far away as Milwaukee, and from nearly every township in LaSalle County. We have rescued and relocated innumerable barn cats who would otherwise have been euthanized, each now keeping a local barn free from rodents. We provide food and shelter to managed feral cat colonies and provide ongoing support to feral caregivers. We advocate for the humane treatment of all cats, but especially for homeless stray and feral cats, and we promote the proven best method of feral cat population control - Trap-Neuter-Return.
